7 Things To Do With Your Dog This Year

Happy New Year! As you are making plans for the coming year, don’t forget about your dog! After all, Fido will be right there with you as you strive to meet your goals for the next 12 months. Here, a North Dallas, TX vet suggests some things to put on your agenda for 2020.

Have A Snack

If there is one thing Fido is looking forward to this year, it may very well be food. Treats will definitely get that cute tail going! While you don’t want to overindulge your pooch, there’s nothing wrong with offering him a yummy snack.

Learn A Trick

Dogs are very intelligent and curious, and many of them really enjoy pleasing their owners. Fido gets an adorable smile on his face when he knows he’s being a good boy! If your pup hasn’t got basic doggy obedience commands down yet, work on these first. Otherwise, teach him some cute tricks, or move on to advanced training.

Play!

As the saying says, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. Dogs are great playmates! Try to play with your furry pal every day. Even a few minutes of doggy playtime will benefit your furry best friend. (We suspect it will put a smile on your face, too!)

Go To A Park

Our canine companions love to explore! A change of scenery is also very beneficial for Fido. Visit  a new park or trail with your furry best friend in 2020.

Spend Time With Friends

Many dogs love to run and play with other pups. It’s often really good for Fido to spend time with other dogs. Why not host a puppy party this year? Have some friends bring their canine buddies over. Set out lots of toys and treats for the pooches, and host a grill-out or potluck for your human guests. Just make sure that all of your four-legged visitors are current on their vaccines and parasite control.

Visit The Vet

We know, Fido probably likes the dog party idea better. However, your cute pet will be both happier and healthier with proper care!

Life can get pretty hectic these days. Remember to enjoy some down time with your canine friend!
